Getting Started Paying My Staff: Pet Sitter Plus has a sophisticated Staff Pay system allowing you to pay staff at different rates, have different pay amounts for each service, and automatically calculate pay for special situations such as Holiday pay, late nights, weekends and more, as needed.
Note: To have the proper data to pay your staff, Pet Sitter Plus relies on Service Item set up: "Staff Pay Rules" if you pay per visit (see Getting Started: Service, Price and Staff Pay Set Up); or it relies on staff "Shifting In and Out" if you pay hourly (details are included below.)
1. Paying My Staff per Visit
Paying your staff after having set up the Staff Pay Rules for each Service Item is easy. The Staff Pay Report provides total staff pay for any selected dates. Pet Sitter Plus does not calculate taxes, paid time off or other Payroll-type functions, you may need a separate payroll processing software.
- Select a custom date range or use a quick report button, i.e. "This Week."
- Select "<" to view the previous timeframe; or ">" for the next timeframe.
- (Optional) Add a filter, select "All Staff" drop-down and select a Staff Member.
- Click "Reload" to view your customized Staff Pay Report
- Select "Show Detail" to control the amount of detail the report displays.
Note: Similar to other reports, direct access to a Client Account is available by clicking on the blue Client Name.
In addition, appended to each Staff Pay Report are statistics which many business owners will find very helpful when compiling KPI's and appraisals.
2. Paying My Staff Hourly
Paying your staff hourly is easy. After you set-up "Shifts," and instruct your staff how and when to "Shift-In / Shift-Out," you can report all hours logged so you can pay your staff. The "Timecard Export" provides total staff hours for any selected dates. Pet Sitter Plus does not calculate taxes, paid time off or other Payroll-type functions, you may need a separate payroll processing software.
- Turn on the staff access to record Hourly shifts: Toggle "Record Staff Shifts" ON.
- In "Schedule," access "GPS Monitor," then "Staff Activity."
- Select a custom date range or use a quick report button, i.e. "This Week."
- Select "<" to view the previous timeframe; or ">" for the next timeframe.
- (Optional) Add a filter, select an option from "All Staff" and/or "All Services" drop-downs.
- Select "Timecard Export" to view your customized Report.
- The Timecard will export as a .csv; open it in a spreadsheet program such as Excel.
- Each staff will have total hours listed for the dates selected.
- Totals can be provided to your payroll processor, or multiplied by staff hourly rate for pay amount.
