You can filter the Schedule by any Service Item Group (i.e., all recurring services) in the Admin Schedule (List/Column or Compact View). This is helpful when:
- you need to cancel all recurring services on holidays, or
- if you need to email all clients with recurring services on a severe weather day
as these tasks can be accomplished with one bulk action.
It is helpful to organize services into categories, called "Service Item Groups," such as "Walking" for all of your 30, 45 and 60 minute dog walking services. Then you can filter your schedule by group, i.e. "Walking" or "Boarding" and easily view revenue by Service Item Group as well.
What is a Service Item Group?
Service Item Groups combine service items to subtotal revenue for services in a specific category in the Schedule Stats Report and to filter your schedule to view only items in a certain group, such as training or vacation care.
For example, you might have 10 service items for various dog walking services, 15 min, 30 min, etc. You can view the total value from dog walking services, in the Schedule Stats Report, if you assign them all to the service item group.
See Managing Service Item Groups to learn how to create, edit and delete groups.
Tip: Viewing the schedule by Service Item Group is helpful when reassigning work or viewing capacity for certain services. To set up service item groups: Add a New Service Item Group and Applying a Service Item Group to a Service Item.
How Do I Filter the Schedule by Service Item Group?
Navigation: Scheduler > Schedule > List, Column or Compact View
Step 1
- Select the service item group from the "All Item Groups" dropdown.
Step 2
The Schedule will refresh to display the Service Item Group, eg. all the dog walking services scheduled for various staff.
Tip: Use filter by "Service Item Group" from the Client's Schedule when you need to assign a new sitter to a client for their already scheduled recurring walks, but don't want to change the sitter for vacation care services.
Note: The process is the same for any view of the Schedule (List View, Column View, Compact View).
