The Vaccination Flag appears on the Service Request tab when clients use their Client Portal to request services online.
This is useful to identify the status of a client's pet vaccinations and to highlight if one of these has expired or is unvaccinated. The vaccination flag icon will be displayed in red if one of these conditions is applicable.
Note: Vaccination Flags can also be set as Service Item Specific. See Enable or Disable Vaccination Flags for Service Items.
The Vaccination flag is indicated on a Service Request and is relevant to the Pet Types set for each Service Item. The Vaccination Flag function checks the service item's "Restrict to Pet Type" entries and cross references this with the "Pet Type" for the Client's registered Pet. In doing so, the vaccination status is checked for only the relevant Pet Types making the Vaccination Flag more accurate.
Case Use 1 - Client Requesting a Dog Walk
If a client has a dog and a cat registered with you and sends in a Service Request for a Dog Walk, the Vaccination Flag function will only indicate the vaccination status of the dog.
Case Use 2 - Client Requesting a Home Visit
If a client has a dog and cats registered with you and sends in a Service Request for a Home Visit, which involves ALL of the pets in the household, the Vaccination Flag function will check the vaccination status of all the Pets and show a vaccination flag for each one.
How do I enable Vaccination Flags?
There are a number of steps that must first be completed to enable Vaccination Flags on Client Service Request.
Note: A vaccination flag will only be available if the following steps are applied and the Pet Record status is active.
Step 1 - Enable Vaccination Module and Vaccination Flags.
Navigation: Admin > Settings >Vaccinations
Toggle ON:
- "Enable Vaccinations Module."
- "Enable Vaccination Flags."
- Click "Update."
Step 2 - Service Requests: Only Show Service Items that match a Client's Pet Type in the Client Account.
Navigation: Admin > Settings > Service Requests > General
Toggle ON:
- "Only show services for pet types registered in client account."
- Click "Update."
Step 3 - Restrict Service Items to Pet Types
Navigation: Admin > Services > Service Items
There are a number of options when indicating a Pet Type on a Service item, the options for these are explained in Set Service Item Pet Types.
- Select the Service Item.
- "Restrict to Pet Type"
- If the Service Item relates to a specific Pet Service (i.e. Dog Walk), enter the Pet Type i.e., Dog.
- If the Service Item relates to a multiple Pet Service (i.e. Home Visit), enter the Pet Types separated by a comma, or leave the field blank. i.e. Dog, Cat.
- Click "Update."
Repeat the above steps for each of your Service Items.
Step 4 - Enable Vaccination Types to appear in the Vaccination Report.
To enable a vaccination flag to appear for some or all of your vaccination types, the "Use in Reports" toggle must be switched ON.
Navigation: Admin > Supporting Data > Vaccination Types
- Select a Vaccination Type.
- Toggle ON "Use in Reports."
- Click Update.
- Repeat this Step for all of the vaccination types you wish to enable a vaccination flag for in client service requests.
Note:If there are no valid pet vaccination types for a type of pet, then the vaccination flag will be excluded.
