How Do I Add a New Client?

Modified on Thu, 19 Dec at 9:04 AM

The Client Account stores client, home and pets details, as well as order history and payment details. Client and pet management takes place within the client account. Each client account can have as many pet records "associated" with it as needed.

You can add a new client account yourself, or you can allow clients to create an account via the client portal. These instructions allow your clients to set up their own account: Online Registration for New Clients

Tip: Adding the account yourself gives you the chance to ensure important information is added, rather than hoping your client will fill in all details. Allowing clients to create an account, reduces administrative work for you and teaches the client to maintain their own information.

Navigation: Clients

Step 1

  • Click "+ New Client"

Step 2

  • Enter "First Name" and "Last Name" data.
  • Enter "Schedule Ref" information. We recommend using pet name(s). This field appears on the schedule, orders and invoices and is a merge field. If you do not use Pet Name(s) here, there is no way to merge pet name into emails or the schedule. Read more about how the Schedule Ref is used throughout Pet Sitter Plus.
  • Click "Create" button.

Step 3

  • You will automatically be taken to the Client Details screen, where you can complete all client details on the screens in the "Client Information" area of your client account.

Tip: Don't forget to click "Update" on each page when you make a change.

About Custom Fields
Custom fields enable you to customize the clients pages in your database. This means you can add any kind of data you want such as simple text fields, drop down lists, dates, multi-line notes fields, email address fields, image uploads, file uploads, Weblinks and more. If you add custom fields, screenshots may not look the same as your database.
