Credit and debit card payments paid through Stripe are automatically added to client accounts when a payment is made. These payments can be viewed in the client's "Payments & Refunds" tab, but they cannot be edited.
Tip: When an Auto Payment is recorded, the following also occurs::
- The payment is recorded and allocated to the Invoice.
- The invoice is marked "Paid."
- The Invoice is removed from the "Unpaid Invoices" Report.
- A receipt is emailed to the client (if enabled in your Stripe account).
How Does Stripe Automatically Post Client Payments?
Navigation: Clients > Payments & Refunds > Payments
- All payments made via Stripe are labeled "Payment (Auto: Stripe)."
- Click on the word "Payment" to view the payment details. A Stripe Payment cannot be edited.
Note: To send a receipt email to your client when a Stripe payment is made, enable the Receipt directly in your Stripe account. See How does a Client Make a Payment in the Client Portal?
