In the Sitters Tab you can assign as many pet sitters to a Client's Account as needed. You can add a primary sitter, ie. the staff person who does most of the pet sitting for that client and then add one or several sitters familiar with the client and pets who are able to provide care.
Important: Check “Hide teams, show backup sitters” under Admin > Settings > Staff Access. This will hide the TEAMS option from the client record and display the SITTERS instead.
Tip: If you are a sole trader, you can set the same default Primary Sitter for all New clients you create. Set A Default Primary Sitter For All New Clients.
How does the Sitters Tab work and How do I add Sitters to the client account?
Navigation: Clients > access a client's account > Client Admin > Sitters
- To add a sitter, click the drop-down menu below the "Members" column that says "[not set]" by default.
- Select the pet sitter you want to associate with the client's account.
- Click "Add New Sitter."
Tip: The first sitter added will be the Primary Sitter. Repeat the steps above to add additional sitters. Once at least two sitters are added, you may set a different Primary Sitter by clicking "make primary" next to the sitter's name.
Note: There can be only one primary sitter but unlimited backup sitters as required.
The pet sitters listed on each client account may be granted additional rights, i.e. they may (optionally) be allowed to view the client's account and update client information. See "How to Allow All Staff to See Client Data" and
"How to Allow all Staff to Update Client Data" for more information.
When scheduling services, staff assigned to the “Sitters” tab appear under the “Team” heading in the "Staff" drop down list, making it easier to schedule an approved sitter.
Tip: The majority of pet sitting businesses work effectively in Sitters Mode. However, for some businesses, you may find Teams Mode works better for you. See how Teams Mode works in "Hide Teams, Show Backup Sitters."
