What is a Staff Type?

Modified on Mon, 31 Oct, 2022 at 5:04 PM

Staff Types group your staff for different purposes, such as to:
  • pay groups of staff different amounts for the same service. Example - you have senior and junior staff that are paid different amounts.
  • identify staff that work in different geographic areas.
  • identify staff who don't work in the field but work in the office in admin or scheduling.
  • identify the business manager (usually the owner) who has their staff pay set to zero as they are paid in a different way.

Using Staff Types will enable you to set up Staff Pay Rules for calculating the correct amount of pay for each service.

Tip: You can create as many Staff Types as you like, and once these are created they will appear in the dropdown menu. If you need to create a new staff type, edit an existing one or delete a staff type, please see Managing Staff Types.

Note: To set up and use Staff Pay Rules with services, read Understanding Staff Pay Rules and Add Staff Pay Rule for Staff Type.
