Client Types group your clients for different purposes, such as to:
- charge groups of clients different amounts for the same service. Example - you increase the price of boarding but you grandfather a group of clients on the old price.
- identify client groups for marketing purposes.
- identify clients who have certain types of pets.
- identify clients who use certain types of services such as recurring, daycare or boarding.
Generally, Client Types are used in billing for the automatic calculation of your prices using Price Rules. You can also use Client Types to automatically calculate pay rates for staff with Staff Pay Rules.
Note: By adding a "client type" to a client account, this will ensure that the client appears on any filtered list where this is an option. It will also ensure that your prices and staff pay are calculated correctly. When you are ready, you can add your own Client Types before you go on to add a Client Type to a client account as shown here.
How Do I Set a Client Type for a Client?
Navigation: Clients > access a client record > Client Admin > Settings
- Click dropdown and select the correct "Client Type."
- If you don't use client types, leave this setting as "[not set]."
- Click "Update."
