What is a Staff Type?

Modified on Mon, 31 Oct 2022 at 05:04 PM

Staff Types group your staff for different purposes, such as to:
  • pay groups of staff different amounts for the same service. Example - you have senior and junior staff that are paid different amounts.
  • identify staff that work in different geographic areas.
  • identify staff who don't work in the field but work in the office in admin or scheduling.
  • identify the business manager (usually the owner) who has their staff pay set to zero as they are paid in a different way.

Using Staff Types will enable you to set up Staff Pay Rules for calculating the correct amount of pay for each service.

Tip: You can create as many Staff Types as you like, and once these are created they will appear in the dropdown menu. If you need to create a new staff type, edit an existing one or delete a staff type, please see Managing Staff Types.

Note: To set up and use Staff Pay Rules with services, read Understanding Staff Pay Rules and Add Staff Pay Rule for Staff Type.

Step 3

When the Staff Pay Rules are triggered, the service's rate of pay will update automatically to the correct rate in both the service order and the invoice when it is created. It will also be reflected in the Staff Pay Report.
