When an online booking is canceled by a client from the Portal, Pet Sitter Plus performs several functions immediately.
When a Client cancels a booking, what happens to the scheduled services?
Step 1
Navigate to Scheduler > Schedule
In the Schedule, the service is changed from a "scheduled service" to a "cancelled service." To see the cancelled service on the schedule:
- Click on the drop-down selecting "Cancelled Services Only."
- Choose the date that the service was originally scheduled on.
- Click "Reload."
Step 2
Navigate to clients > click on the client record > Orders & Invoices
In the service order on the client record:
- You will see that the service is now in grey type, and has been prefixed by the word "Cancelled."
- The price and staff pay for the service have been reduced to zero.
Note: You may still edit the price and/or staff pay for the cancelled service if, for instance, you need to add a cancellation fee for the service.
To edit the price/staff pay for the cancelled visit:- Select the visit.
- Click "Edit Services."
- Enter the appropriate price/staff pay.
- Add an "Invoice note" alerting the client to their late payment fee, if appropriate.
- Click "Update."
Tip: For more information about editing services see Editing a Service on an Order.
Step 3
Navigation: Click the link "go to portal" from any Client's account
On the client schedule in the Client Portal:
- From the Schedule tab in the portal, you will see that the visit is now in grey type.
- If clicked, it will show 'Cancelled' along with more details of the visit (time, pet sitter).
Tip: Canceled services can show in Staff/Client Schedules for 0 days (never show), 1-5 days prior to service start date, or they can be configured to always show on the schedule. For more information about setting your rules for showing canceled services in the Staff/Client schedules, see Show Short Notice Canceled Services.
Step 4
On the Staff schedule (mobile or desktop view):
- In the list of scheduled visits for the pet sitter, you will see the visit is now in grey type.
- The visit also has the word "Cancelled" to identify it.
