How does the integration work? 

QuickBooks is one of the market leaders for businesses around the world to manage their accountancy/financial procedures and is widely used by our customers.


Pet Sitter Plus can be configured to connect directly with QuickBooks Online, providing transaction level integration using our seamless invoicing, payment processing and client information features and more.


Your financial transactions and data created within Pet Sitter Plus can be automatically "synced" directly into your QuickBooks Online account. Read more...

What versions of QuickBooks do you support?


We support QuickBooks Online only. This includes the QuickBooks Online plans for Essentials, Plus and Advanced. The Self Employed and Simple Start Plans will not integrate with Pet Sitter Plus. We do not support any legacy desktop versions of QuickBooks. (For example, any versions that might be installed and run locally on your PC are not supported).


What country specific version of QuickBooks do you support? 


We have tested the Pet Sitter Plus integration in versions of QuickBooks online which are used in Australia, Canada, New Zealand, UAE, USA and UK respectively. We are currently offering support for anyone wishing to use Pet Sitter Plus in conjunction with any one of these country specific accounts in QuickBooks Online. 


If I invoice in multi-currencies such as Dirhams and USD, can I still use the QuickBooks Online Integration? 


Yes, Pet Sitter Plus supports a multi-currency billing environment. Clients can use Pet Sitter Plus to create invoices in both Dirhams and (optionally) US$ and they can then automatically record these transaction in a USA based version of QuickBooks Online. Read more...

Can I configure the integration so that some transactions are not synchronized? 


It is not possible to configure QuickBooks integration to routinely ignore (meaning to not sync) one or more of the types of financial transaction. This is a “black box” integration designed to significantly reduce the requirement for the manual creation of Pet Sitter Plus client information and financial transactions and as such is not designed to be reduced in its scope. If however, when syncing transactions, if an error is immediately discovered when creating a transaction in Pet Sitter Plus, the QuickBooks sync of that particular transaction can be stopped, by clicking on "Ignore" in the "Data in Next Sync" queue.


Can I re-connect my QuickBooks account to my Pet Sitter Plus database after I have disconnected it (e.g.. if I disconnect it by mistake)? 


Yes, you can re-connect the same database after you have disconnected it and there should be no consequences, although this will remain a relatively rare occurrence and therefore one that carries risk of unforeseen circumstances. It is not recommended that anyone disconnects their database without good reason. Read more... 


Can I disconnect my QuickBooks Online account and then reconnect a different QuickBooks account to the same PSP database? 


This will not work. Please contact Support as our technical team will have to reset your PSP database before it can be connected to a different QuickBooks Online account. Read more...


If I create a new client in Pet Sitter Plus, will the data be synchronized with QuickBooks right away? 


Client data collected by Pet Sitter Plus is only synchronized with QuickBooks at the time it is required to support the recording of a financial transaction such as an invoice or a payment. Read more... 


If I amend client data in Pet Sitter Plus, will the amended data be synchronized with QuickBooks Online? 


Yes, but only if a transaction is created that requires the client to exist in QuickBooks. The elements that would typically be updated are those listed in the following article about client creation. Read more... 


How are service items synchronized with QuickBooks? 


Firstly, it is useful to know that you only need to create service items in Pet Sitter Plus (you do not need to create them in QuickBooks). The integration module will generate the required service item data in QuickBooks as and when it is required. Read more... 


Will I be able to get a detailed revenue breakdown from QuickBooks Online? 


Yes – The individual service line items that appear on each invoice will be added to the PSP Income account found in the chart of accounts. This will enable QuickBooks to produce a detailed breakdown of revenue by service type. Read more... 


Does the QuickBooks integration support Tips? 


Yes – A tip added to an invoice in Pet Sitter Plus is shown as a line item on the invoice in QuickBooks. If the tip is subsequently deleted, then it is also deleted in QuickBooks. 


Tips are recorded as non-taxable items in both systems. Read more... 


Does the QuickBooks integration support Invoice Write Offs? 


Pet Sitter Plus supports an invoice write off function where you can write off the amount owing. Write offs are a common accounting function and a means by which to write off bad debts from your set of financial accounts. 


The Pet Sitter Plus / QuickBooks Integration supports write offs. Simply process a write off in Pet Sitter Plus in the normal way and it will be processed as an equivalent write off in QuickBooks. Read more... 


Will Credit Notes be synced with QuickBooks Online?


For pet sitting businesses that invoice in advance of service using Pet Sitter Plus, credit notes are typically created when services are cancelled (or you decide to offer a service at a discount or for free). Credit notes are fully supported by the Pet Sitter Plus QuickBooks Online integration. Read more...


Will Debit Notes be synced with QuickBooks Online?


For pet sitting businesses that invoice in advance of service using Pet Sitter Plus, debit notes are typically created when the value of services is increased for whatever reason. Debit notes are fully supported by the Pet Sitter Plus QuickBooks Online integration. Read more... 


How do I sync a Voided Invoice?


The voiding of an invoice in Pet Sitter Plus has the same function and meaning in QuickBooks. In both systems, when an invoice is voided, a copy of the original invoice is retained but the value of the voided invoice is now zero. In both systems, voiding an invoice reduces the balance of payments outstanding on a client account by the value of the original invoice. 


If an invoice in Pet Sitter Plus is voided, then on the next synchronization the equivalent invoice in QuickBooks will also be voided. Read more... 


Can I sync my Payments? 


The Pet Sitter Plus / QuickBooks Integration will sync your Payments. Simply add a Payment in Pet Sitter Plus in the normal way and it will be added in QuickBooks when the next synchronization takes place.

Can I sync any Refunds? 


Unallocated payments of any kind can be refunded to a client in Pet Sitter Plus. The Pet Sitter Plus / QuickBooks Integration supports Refunds. Simply process a Refund in Pet Sitter Plus in the normal way and it will be processed as an equivalent Refund in QuickBooks.   Read more...
